JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Nurse Practitioner Liver and Pancreas Surgery • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Atlanta, GA • Service Setting: Hospital-Based Surgical Specialty Practice • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: 12/29 30/2026 (ASAP start preferred) • Clinical Shift Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00a 5:00p (40 hours per pay period)COVERAGE DATES • December 29, 2025 April 30, 2026 (ongoing coverage for volume increase and leave vacancy)PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Increased surgical volume • Admissions: Yes • Rounding: Included as part of surgical service • Phone Consults: Included • Case Mix: Liver and pancreas surgical patients, pre-operative and post-operative managementFACILITY INFORMATION • Office Equipment Available: Standard clinic and hospital resources • Specialty Backup Available: Liver and pancreas surgical team • Support Staff Available: Surgical specialists and clinical support staff • Reason for Coverage: Volume increase and provider leave vacancyPRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: YesCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Overtime Terms: Daily overtime after 24 hours; weekly overtime after 40 hours • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: CoveredREQUIRED PROCEDURES • Pre-operative patient evaluations • Post-operative surgical follow-up • Inpatient and outpatient surgical care coordinationJOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Georgia Nurse Practitioner license • Board: Certified Nurse Practitioner • DEA: As required by facility • Certifications: As required by facility • Experience: Surgical NP experience preferred, hepatobiliary or pancreas experience strongly preferred • Other Qualifications: Ability to manage high-volume surgical service and collaborate with specialty surgeonsDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide clinical support for liver and pancreas surgical services • Manage pre-operative and post-operative patient care • Coordinate care plans with surgeons and multidisciplinary teams • Participate in weekday clinic and hospital coverage • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
