Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiothoracic Join a dedicated, innovative Cardiac Surgery Team in Colorado Springs, Colorado! We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Practitioner with expertise in cardiac or cardiovascular surgery and ICU patient management skills. Be part of a patient-centered team committed to providing world-class cardiothoracic care. Job Responsibilities: Provide advanced clinical care for cardiothoracic surgery patients, emphasizing compassionate, patient-first approaches. Assist in cardiac surgeries, including performing endoscopic vein harvesting and first assisting as needed. Manage ICU and cardiovascular surgical patient care, including rounding and evaluating CVICU, floor, and clinic patients. Participate in two full-day clinics weekly and address additional patients as necessary. Rotate through operating room coverage, Monday through Friday. Collaborate closely with surgeons, physicians, intensivists, and healthcare professionals in a collegial, multidisciplinary environment. Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develop and implement care plans based on patient outcomes. Order medications and write prescriptions per regulatory policies. Perform bedside procedures as appropriate. Document all care delivered with high quality and timeliness. Demonstrate expert clinical judgment and function independently under physician supervision. Maintain continuing medical education to meet state and national requirements. Adapt and thrive in a high-stress, dynamic clinical setting. Exhibit flexibility, teamwork, problem-solving skills, and a positive cultural fit. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master's degree in Nursing REQUIRED Nurse Practitioner Certification by ANCC or AANPCB REQUIRED Minimum 3+ years of cardiac or cardiovascular surgery experience with ICU patient management REQUIRED Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license to prescribe medications REQUIRED Full prescriptive authority as per medical staff privileging REQUIRED BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross REQUIRED Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid REQUIRED No prior sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA List of Excluded Individuals REQUIRED License and Certification Requirements: Current COVID vaccination required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
