We are building our culinary team and are looking for those who are passionate about cooking.We are looking for Prep cooks, Grill Cooks, Sub & Sandwich makers, and cooks who can read recipes and make a great meal. Job description: Job Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our culinary team. This role is integral to the success of the college's dining experience, where you will be responsible for ensuring high standards of food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a commitment to safety and quality, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Duties:Assist in menu planning and development to ensure a diverse and appealing selection of meals.Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines.Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food handling processes.Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.Provide fine dining experiences by presenting dishes attractively and serving with professionalism.Handle food items safely, ensuring proper storage and handling techniques are followed.Participate in catering events, providing exceptional service to guests.Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation while adhering to safety protocols.Support the dietary aide team in fulfilling special dietary needs for residents or clients.Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces. Experience:Previous experience in the dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred.Background in menu planning or fine dining is advantageous but grill cook and prep cook experience is great.Experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service within the food industry is essential.Familiarity with catering services and serving techniques is a plus.Culinary experience that includes knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations is required.Restaurant or kitchen experience that demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail will be considered an asset.
