Java Software Engineer

Job Title: Software EngineerDuration of project: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)Location: 100% RemoteDescription:What You Will Do:As a Sr. Software Engineer you will contribute to the expansion of our robust cloud-native enterprise solutions in the rapidly growing digital space within the healthcare industry. You will be a member of the development scrum team working collaboratively with Architectes, Product Managers, and Engineers to deliver solutions that sustain and improve the flow of vital healthcare information to individuals and communities that we serve.Responsibilities:Develop high quality code that is aligned with architectural design patterns using Java and SpringBoot 3.xDevelop secure and scalable RESTful services and APIsDefine requirements and implement test cases following the Test Driven Development (TDD) processWork with team members to ensure that delivered code meets specifications based on functional/technical specificationsParticipate in all scrum ceremonies and Program Increment (PI) PlanningMaintain a minimum of 80% code coverage for all non POJO based implementationDeliver on committed features on time with high quality solutionsProvide guidance, advice, feedback and support to team membersOutline solutions for new features through documentation, sequence diagrams, and other architectural designsAssist in documenting technical details in story creation during sprint refinement where necessaryPerform code reviewsRequired Experience/Skills:Experience with microservices design and developmentExperience developing cloud-native applications in a distributed systemAdvanced knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals in OOAD, design patterns (Gang of Four), data structures, and algorithmsStrong understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (MySql, Postgres, MongoDB)Experience designing, developing and consuming RESTful API'sExperience using message broker/event queue technologies (e.g. Rabbit, PubSub, etc.)Experience using container management software (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)5-7 years of professional software development experience required in an Agile environmentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsOpenness to new ideas and an unceasing desire to learn new thingsBasic understanding of Oauth 2.0 conceptExperience integrating with external systemsDesired Experience:Experience developing within Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD).Experience using Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) for continuous delivery and managing application life cycleExperience with Atlassian tools: JIRA, ConfluenceExperience with Oauth 2.0Knowledge of HL7 FHIR Standards is a plusEducation:B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent related experience
