Position Summary (major areas of contribution):This individual must have a strong background in purchasing, inventory, receiving, manufacturing, and supply chain management and must be able to meet strategic and tactical company objectives. Working closely with Manufacturing and Operations leaders as well as external partners to drive annual cost savings. Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:Establish and maintain effective customer relationships with SignResource suppliers and vendors to effectively support the Company's growing supply chain.Management of material costs to assure company targets are met including usage, spend, inventory levels.Partner with manufacturing, engineering, business development, and sales departments and suppliers on the evaluation of new and existing materials as well as future trends in the global marketplace.Works with vendors to implement continuous improvements and new technologies, resolve delivery issues such as delays, short orders, material discrepancies, and quality issues.Work with vendors to ensure manufacturing schedules and inventories are in place so customer needs can be met.Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests.Determine if inventory quantities are sufficient for current and forecasted needs, ordering more materials when necessary.Respond to supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations.Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications.Supports plant quality, operations, and materials departments to help resolve any supplier quality and delivery issues. Assures timely communication of supplier performance information to plants, project management and engineering.Establishes and maintains key performance metrics and monitors anize and audit inventory, receipts, returns, and storage practices.Responsible for performing and maintaining cycle count processes.Review all shortages and wrong items received on daily PO's with Supervisor to make all needed corrections/adjustmentsMinimum Qualifications / Skills:Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.Manufacturing or Distribution industries experience is required.Proven ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail in analyzing and processing. Ability to multi-task and work with a hands-on approachAbility to demonstrate customer service qualities. Experience (type and amount of experience required):Minimum 3 years work in inventory control management Advanced knowledge and skills in general inventory control processesSets prioritization and goals for the strategic long term and short-term needs of the business.Expert competency level in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)Requirements:Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving abilityAbility to lift up to 30 lbsAbility to bend, sit, walk for prolonged periods.Equal Opportunity Employer as to all protected groups, including protected veterans and individuals with disabilities.
