As part of the Gas Power One Field Services team, FieldCore installs, maintains, and upgrades power generation equipment, enabling operators of the world's energy infrastructure to provide more reliable and affordable energy. Job Summary: The Power Plant Operations Supervisor I maintains the power generation facilities, work sites, tools, and support equipment, both inside and outside of the control room, in first-class condition promoting a safe and clean work environment and prevents personal injury or equipment damage.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Installs, operates, and maintains a wide variety of power plant and mobile power generation equipmentMonitor power generation equipment and indicators to detect evidence of operating problemsAdjust controls to generate specified electrical power or to regulate the flow of power between generation equipment and the loadControl power generating equipment, including load banks, pressure washers, generators, fuel tanks and all support equipment, using local and organizational policies and proceduresRegulate equipment operations and conditions, such as load levels, based on instrument data or from computersTake maintenance actions, based on readings from charts, meters, and gauges, at established intervalsStart or stop generators, auxiliary equipment, turbines, or other power generation equipment as necessaryInspect/enter data on equipment records or logbook entries or communicate with other plant personnel to assess equipment-operating statusControl or maintain auxiliary equipmentClean, lubricate, or maintain equipment, such as generators, turbines, pumps, or compressors, to prevent failure or deteriorationCommunicate with systems supported facility managers to regulate and coordinate provided voltages and transmission loads and frequenciesFollow written procedures; present a professional appearance and maintaining a flawless Health, and Safety record through adherence to local, industrial, and governmental safety standards and organizational and departmental policiesClimb poles or use truck-mounted buckets to access equipmentPlace insulating or fireproofing materials over conductors and jointsInstall, maintain, and repair electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switchesIdentify defective sectionalizing devices, circuit breakers, fuses, voltage regulators, transformers, switches, relays, or wiring, using wiring diagrams and electrical-testing instrumentsCoordinate work assignment preparation and completion with other workersInspect and test power lines and auxiliary equipment to locate and identify problems, using reading and testing instrumentsString wire conductors and cables between poles, towers, trenches, pylons, and buildings, setting lines in place and using winches to adjust tensionTravel may be requiredAbility and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignmentsYou may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization's core values.Required Qualifications & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent10+ years of experience, including 4+ years of experience in a role equivalent to a Power Plant Operator; OR a combination of equivalent education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities of a power plant operator 4+ years of control room operations experience of process control facilityISA CCST level 2 certification completed or mechanical equivalent level of training completedEnglish proficiency requiredPossess a valid state-issued driver's licenseDesired Characteristics:Experience with Leadership and/or supervisory management rolesISA CCST level 2 certification completed or mechanical equivalent level of training completed.Good written communications skills with skill in documentation and report writing.Technical understanding of principles of electronics and electricity, including generation, conversion, transformation, distribution, and utilization; types, capacity, and purpose of low voltage circuits, circuit breakers, switches, fuses, regulators, relays, instruments, and meters associated with electric generation and distributionUnderstanding of wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and technical publicationsUnderstand techniques of operating and maintaining internal combustion engines, generators, generating plants, distribution panels, and accessory equipment; use and purpose of test equipment; safety rules and practices; environmental policies; principles of management; and operation and repair of electrical power production systemsCompensation and Benefits:The hourly wage range for this position is $44.62 to $ Employees may be eligible for overtime.
