With over 5,100 megawatts of nonregulated renewable energy capacity, we are shaping the future of clean energy in the U.S.Position SummaryThe Renewables Technologist support role is responsible for the inspection and repair of electrical generating equipment and must have the ability to work with some degree of independence on many tasks. This position requires a high level of safety awareness. A Level 1 will have the capability of working with little to no supervision and will require little technical assistance. A Level 1 will also be capable of training and mentoring Associate Technologist. To reach this level the candidate must have demonstrated their ability and have received a recommendation from their manager.We are looking for a Technologist I and II to inspect and repair electrical generating equipment.This will be a traveling position 6 weeks on and 1 week off with no pay.Next class start dates12/11/5ResponsibilitiesRepair and maintenance of wind fleetPerform small and large corrective tasks on wind turbinesLead teams of technicians as assigned on tasks within areas of developed expertiseProvide mentorship and training to Associate Technologists as directedInteract directly with customers as directed by managerDevelop technical expertise for the identification and resolution of problems and complete repairs to electrical generating equipment on an increasing number of technologies and tasksStrive to continuously improve job-related and technical knowledge, skills and performanceDiagnose and resolve faults on wind turbines as they relate to mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problemsPerform assigned tasks in accordance with all policy and proceduresSupport business goals through safe and efficient execution of assigned tasksDevelops positive working relationships with team members and customersAssist with scheduling, dispatching and travel coordination in support of project requirementsOversee subcontractor activities on site as directedClimb up to 400 ft. several times dailyMaintain a high level of safety awareness at all timesWork in a outdoor environment for an extended period of timeOperate equipment including but not limited to forklifts and commercial motor vehiclesBasic QualificationsRenewables Technologist Level IHigh School/GEDIn addition to required degree, one (1) year minimum related work experienceIn lieu of Associates degree and one (1) year minimum related work experience listed above, three (3) years minimum of related work experienceRenewables Technologist Level IIIn addition to a degree, two (2) years minimum related work experienceDesired QualificationsRenewables Technologist Level IIn lieu of Associates degree and one (1) year minimum related work experience listed above, three (3) years minimum of related work experienceRenewables Technologist Level IIIn lieu of Associates degree or technical diploma and two (2) years minimum of related work experience listed above, four (4) years minimum of related work experienceTechnical school certificate, Associates degree or higherNCCCO rigging and signalperson (or equivalent)DOT Health CardClass A CDLAdditional years of wind experience (strongly preferred)Working ConditionsValid Driver's License requiredAny travel to projectsOperate equipment including but not limited to forklifts and commercial motor vehiclesThe ability to climb turbine towers (up to 400ft) daily is a requirement of this positionExposure to mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazardsAbility to lift 75lbs individuallyWalking, Climbing of stairs, ladders, and/or scaffoldsWorking in all-weather outdoor conditions (extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow)Exposure to noisy, dusty conditions, chemicals or solventsWork at heights greater than 300 feet dailyAbility to pass a background check and pass a drug testCompletion of OEM or third-party technical specialty training programSafe Working Weight Requirement: This position contains a weight restriction of 265 pounds as an essential function of the job.
