Cybersecurity ConsultantAbout Kinetic Potential (KP)Kinetic Potential (KP) is a mission-driven organization based in Washington, DC. We help veterans, students, and career changers gain the skills and experience needed for cybersecurity careers. As we grow, we are looking for Cybersecurity Consultants who can teach, mentor, and guide learners through our training and apprenticeship programs and deliver high quality Secure Managed Services to small businesses, nonprofits and government agencies, collectively, the members of the KP Network.Role Overview:This role working with junior staff that are in progressively different stages of development from interns to professionals. Consultants teach course content, support learning, guide hands-on practice, and help students prepare for career opportunities similar to adjunct professors. Additionally, consultants serve as the management function for the delivery of security services for members of the KP Network ensuring quality control and excellent service delivery often provided by a team of junior staff members.About the ProgramOur Cybersecurity Career Path follows the NICE Framework and prepares participants for real cybersecurity roles through both formal academic training and hands on on-the-job training provided through a new secure managed service offering. The program includes:Training & Certification: Live or self-paced cybersecurity training + CompTIA exam prep (A+, Network+, Security+)Hands-On Projects: Real or simulated cybersecurity projects through Cyber Range, Cyber Patriot, Teach Cyber, and GenCyber"”but primarily through the delivery of professional IT security services (risk assessments, phishing campaigns, awareness training, enterprise security policies, vulnerability analysis, etc).Career Guidance: Support in exploring opportunities within KP and our partner employersExpected time commitment: 3-5 hours per cohort (may have multiple cohorts depending on demand).Key Responsibilities:Teaching & Student SupportTeach cybersecurity/IT topics and share real-world examplesLead discussions, group activities, and hands-on learningProvide guidance during CompTIA exam preparationHold office hours and answer student questions via emailSupport students individually and in groupsSupport mentoring, guest speaker sessions, and project collaborationsProgram DevelopmentHelp onboard new student and veteran cohortsUpdate and improve curriculum, course materials, and boot camp designContribute to KP's learning content and teaching approachService Delivery (Coaching & Mentorship)Build strong relationships with customers, students and veteransDevelop strong SOPs for the execution of client services"”developing repeatable processes and service level agreements (SLA)Coach team to execute high quality service and ensure key performance indicators are achieved (revenue targets, sla's, training competencies, etc)Reinforce KP's expectations for professionalism and career readinessModel KP's mission and values in all interactionsQualifications:Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, standards, and best practicesExperience with CompTIA A+, Network+, and Security+Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skillsInterest in teaching and mentoring (teaching experience preferred)Passion for helping adults gain new skills and find employmentMultilingual ability"”especially Spanish"”is a plusJob Types: Full-time, Part-time, ContractPay: $ $55.00 per yearExperience:Cybersecurity: 5 years (Required)Work Location: Remote
