Your Opportunity as the Senior Data ScientistAs a Senior Data Scientist, you will partner with internal stakeholders to better understand their business needs, and will be responsible for dissecting business problems, proposing quantitative solutions, analyzing business partners' needs, and developing data driven solutions to improve and achieve business objectives.Location: Working Remote USAIn this role you will:Build advanced quantitative / statistical / machine learning algorithms and perform analyses on a variety of datasets to identify trends, patterns, correlation / causations and predict future business outcomesBuild and deploy prototype solutions to showcase ideas and proof of concepts and transition these prototype products to production according to company standardsPerform validation, testing, and documentation of newly developed predictive models. Assist in maintaining existing models and data productFacilitate conversations and effectively communicate with team members and business partners. Our culture is rooted in ourBasic Beliefs, and we believe in supporting every employee by meeting their physical, emotional, and financial needs.What we are looking for:Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or relevant field2+ years of hands-on experience developing and applying Statistical/ML predictive methodsProven experience conveying the results of complex analyses in a clear and concise manner to stakeholdersDeep understanding of statistical and machine learning approaches (both supervised and unsupervised) and application to business problemsWell versed in R and/or Python, with a deep understanding of relational data structures and SQLFamiliarity with Git for source control managementExperience in processing large volumes of structured and unstructured dataAdditional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):Master's degreeExperience processing large volumes of structured and unstructured data related to syndicated and POS data sourcesFamiliarity with BI / visualization tools (Tibco Spotfire, Power BI, Tableau)Experience with cloud computing platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure)Experience with visualization frameworks & web development concepts (JS, HTML, CSS)Familiarity with Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) and RetailLearn more about working at Smucker:Helping our Employees ThriveDelivering on Our PurposeOur Continued Commitment to Ensuring a Workplace for AllFollow us onLinkedIn
