Food Safety and Labeling Specialist

Job Summary:Supports the labeling process by maintaining accurate existing finished goods product labels, nutritional information, and product specification sheets. Fulfills label printing requests and shipments, monitors label inventory, and restocks supplies as needed. Ensures the filing system is organized and up to date. Assists the Labeling Supervisor on special projects and other departmental requests as needed.Essential Functions:· Prepares and distributes finished goods labels to QA, Production, and Packing Teams, verifying accuracy of label information.· Maintains finished goods specification sheets with current ingredients, nutritional's, cooking instructions, packaging, weight specifications, shelf life, and other key product details.· Updates USDA label documentation as needed to ensure regulatory compliance.· Fulfills label requests from QA for Packing Teams and coordinates label shipments for the Purchasing Department.· Collaborates with Customer Service, Shipping, Packing, and QA Teams to collect necessary information for generating and fulfilling label requests for relabel and repack orders.· Monitors and tracks label inventory and coordinates labeling supply orders with the Purchasing team.· Organizes and maintains ingredient and label documentation files, including purging of end of year files.· Assists the Labeling Supervisor with export-related tasks as needed.· Assists the Labeling Supervisor on special projects and other departmental requests as needed.Required Qualifications:· High school diploma or general education degree (GED).· Proficient in Microsoft Office, with a strong focus on Excel for data entry, analysis, and documentation. An understanding of USDA & FDA Food labeling regulations is a plus.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.· Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form.· Demonstrates strong attention to detail by consistently producing accurate, high-quality work; skilled at identifying errors, maintaining thorough documentation, and ensuring all tasks are completed with precision and care.· Effectively and professionally present information and respond to inquiries from managers, clients, customers, and the general public, both verbally and through email.· Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify root causes, and implement effective, practical solutions in a timely manner.· Upholds strong ethical standards by consistently following regulations, quality assurance procedures, and company policies.
