Forestry Technician - OverviewWork will be on Plumas National Forest near Quincy, CA and Oroville, CAMountain Engineering is in search of individuals to join our team of Forestry Technicians. As a Forestry Technician, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including conducting forest inventories, timber cruising, timber marking, and unit layout for timber harvest operations. You'll work closely with our team of professionals such as Registered Professional Foresters, Licensed Timber Operators, and a variety of state and federal stakeholders to ensure that forestry projects are completed efficiently and in accordance with environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the outdoors, a keen interest in forestry and environmental science, and strong organizational skills.The position is seasonal to account for winter weather conditions impacting operations. This position is ideal for candidates that aspire to have a career in land management and forestry. Mountain Engineering can provide a training path for career advancement towards the Registered Professional Forester Certification. This position will work with federal, state, and private landowners to conduct a wide variety of timber harvest implementation plans, hazard tree mitigation, post-fire restoration, and/or timber inventory. Position is ideal for students or graduates focusing in Forestry or a forestry related subject. Flexibly start and end dates depending on school schedule.
