PRINCIPAL - ELEMENTARY(12 MONTHS)SCHOOL YEAR Assignments and Locations to be determinedMontgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for highly qualified candidates for possible elementary school principal positions that may become available within our division for the 2026 - 2027 school year.Please note this is a "continuous recruit posting" to build an applicant pool for all schools.  As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered.  Should a specific location/job be posted, you may also be required to apply to that posting.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:To provide leadership for the instructional program as well as coordinate the administrative oversight and planning of all phases of instructional leadership for the school, including programming, administration, budgetary planning, and discipline of students.DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL SKILLS:Demonstrates successful experience in planning and implementing instructional initiativesPossesses knowledge and experience with state and federal requirements including the Virginia Standards of LearningCommunicates effectively with stakeholders through outstanding written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrates an understanding of the importance of school accreditation and ability to work with parents and staff as a team to achieve the standardDisplays a record of success in establishing an effective learning environment and maintaining high standards of student conductDemonstrates experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration, and coursework and expertise in using technology in education and administrationEngages in a collaborative leadership styleCultivates an inclusive, equitable, and warm learning environment for a diverse student populationFosters positive relationships and works effectively with parents and familiesModels professional behavior by being dependable, punctual, and presentAbility to maintain an unquestionable degree of confidentialityMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree Verification showing completion of an approved program in administration and supervision and/or required coursework from an accredited institution Hold or immediately be eligible for a Virginia Department of Education license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision: PreK-12Three years of successful experience as a teacherExperience in implementing educational programsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Three years full time teaching experience and five years of assistant principal and/or principal experience preferredExperience at the elementary levelSalary:  $83, $150,485.96 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (Salary may change due to budget considerations)FLSA:   ExemptBENEFITS:Anthem Medical Plans - Multiple options available for comprehensive medical and prescription coverage Ameritas Vision Plan - Coverage includes eye exams, lenses, frames, and contact lensesDelta Dental Plan - FREE Delta Dental coverage for employees, spouses, and familiesCarilion EAP - FREE Confidential Employee Assistance Program providing support for mental health, legal, financial concerns, and crisis support available to employees and their familiesGenerous Employee Leave Benefits - MCPS offers leave benefits for PT and FT employees, including paid sick leave, personal leave, funeral leave, and annual leave.
