SAP Basis System Engineer

ResponsibilitiesKforce is seeking an experienced SAP Basis System Engineer to join the team of their mass telecommunications and media client in Saint Louis, MO. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and optimization of SAP systems, with a focus on S/4HANA, Business Objects, Cloud Platform Integration, and HANA Cockpit. This role involves ensuring system reliability, performance, patching, maintenance, and disaster recovery while supporting critical business applications in a complex, enterprise-level SAP environment. Key Responsibilities:Administer and maintain SAP systems, including S/4HANA, SAP Business Objects, SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), and HANA databasesPerform system upgrades, patching, and kernel updates to ensure system stability and securityMonitor and optimize system performance using SAP HANA Cockpit and other diagnostic toolsDesign and implement disaster recovery strategies, including backup, restore, and high-availability solutionsManage SAP system landscapes, including development, quality assurance, and production environmentsTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to SAP Basis, database, and integration layersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support SAP integrations with non-SAP systems via CPI or other middlewareEnsure compliance with security standards, including user access management and role administrationProvide technical expertise for SAP migrations, cloud deployments, and system refreshesDocument system configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and audit complianceStay updated on SAP technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and scalabilityRequirements7+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience in enterprise environments3+ years of experience with SAP Business Objects administration2+ years working with SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI) for system integrationsProven expertise with S/4HANA system administration and HANA database managementExtensive experience with SAP HANA Cockpit for monitoring and administrationStrong proficiency in SQL for database management and performance tuningExpertise in SAP system patching, upgrades, and kernel maintenanceKnowledge of disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and high-availability configurationsFamiliarity with SAP Solution Manager for system monitoring and change managementExperience with SAP Fiori administration and configuration (preferred)Understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for SAP deploymentsKnowledge of operating systems (Linux/UNIX, Windows Server) supporting SAP environmentsFamiliarity with SAP security concepts, including user management and authorizationAdditional RequirementsExperience with SAP system migrations to cloud or hybrid environmentsKnowledge of ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem managementFamiliarity with SAP NetWeaver and ABAP stack administration (preferred)Understanding of data archiving and storage optimization in SAP environmentsAbility to work on-call or outside regular hours for system maintenance and emergency supportCertifications (Preferred):SAP Certified Technology Associate - SAP HANASAP Certified Technology Associate - System Administration (SAP Basis)SAP Cloud Platform Integration certification or equivalentThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range.
