Job Details Job Location: Virginia - Wytheville, VA 24382 Education Level: High School Salary Range: $ $20.50 Hourly Job Shift: 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm)SUMMARYSets up and operates both automatic and manual assembly lines, assembles parts to specifications by performing the following duties. Satisfy SA's Quality goals and objectives in completion of activities or duties (reference Somic America Quality Manual and Quality Policy).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.SafetyMaintain and provide a safe work area and work in a safe manner.Report any unsafe conditions to Team Leader immediately.QualityComplete Hourly checks using In Process Check Sheets and Gaging to ensure parts meet Quality Specifications Notifies Team Leader of any suspect material and helps to contain material line side.ChangeoversComplete changeovers using Changeover Procedure.Attach fixtures and jigs to the table positions according to changeover procedure.Change out Station changeover pieces according to changeover procedure.Fill in Changeover checklist to ensure all changeover steps are complete.OperationCompletes standardized work in accordance to Work Instructions.Removes material from boxes and places in fixture or on conveyor.Moves parts from machine to machine as process is completed, i.e. Bolt Press to Pre-Assembly to Final Assembly. Observes and listens to machine operation to detect malfunctions, such as worn rolling heads.Measures and inspects parts for conformance to specifications, using in process sheets, visual checks and gaging.Notify Team Leader of any abnormal or unusual plete line PM's (planned maintenance) as assigned.Submit kaizen suggestions for improvements.2nd Shift Machine Operator Tie Rod Assembly TRA-3QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
