Salary$15.00 HourlyLocationSun Prairie, WIJob TypeSeasonal EmploymentJob Number DepartmentParks, Recreation and ForestryOpening Date12/23/2025Closing Date3/1/2026 11:59 PM CentralUnder the leadership of the Aquatic Center Manager, the Head Cashier is responsible for the admissions operation for the Sun Prairie Family Aquatic Center, including cashier staff scheduling and supervision, daily drawer balancing and customer service.Dates Needed: June - August Hours: 25-40 hours/week. Hours will vary, Monday - Sunday between 11:30 am and 8:30 pm. Pay: $15/hr. - depending on experienceSpecial Note:The Sun Prairie Family Aquatic Center is undergoing a major renovation and is anticipated to open to the public in July of 2026. While the opening is later than a typical season, we will begin paid training in Juneto ensure staff are fully prepared for opening day.This season offers a unique opportunity to be part of the opening team for a completely reimagined aquatic facility. The renovation includes updated bathhouse facilities, concession stand, offices, lifeguard room, a facility-wide speaker system, and new pool features such as a climbing wall, family-friendly slide, aqua zipline and interactive play structures.Staff will benefit from additional training time, team building, and the chance to help set the tone for a fresh start season in an amazing, newly renovated facility,inside and out.*JOIN US FOR OPEN INTERVIEWS JANUARY 7-9, 9:00AM-6:00PM at the WEST SIDE COMMUNITY SERVICES BUILDING, 2598 W Main St., no appointment needed* Applicants will be reviewed as received during the posting period.Essential Job FunctionsMajor Duties/Essential FunctionsProvide day-to-day leadership and supervision of Cashier staffEnsure cashier shifts are full staffed; coordinate with the Aquatic Center Manager (and Aquatics Program Manager) to support special events and peak timesServe as a lead support at the admissions desk by assisting with guest check-ins, season pass processing and handling questions or concernsOpen and assign staff cash drawers at the start of shifts; balance drawers at the end of shifts in accordance with City cash-handling policiesEnsure all cashiers follow proper cash-handling procedures and provide guidance when neededPrepare daily deposit and settlement reports and deliver deposits to bank or City Hall when requiredEnsure daily and weekly cleaning tasks are completed at the front desk/admissions areaAnswer incoming phone calls and respond to patron questions in a courteous and professional mannerAttend all required staff trainings, in-services and meetingsRequirements of WorkExperience/Education:Must be 17 years or olderExperience in cash handling is requiredExperience supervising others is highly preferredSkills, knowledge or abilities needed:Experience working in an aquatic facility setting is desiredAmerican Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification is desiredExperience and/or knowledge of customer service and conflict resolution best practicesAbility and willingness to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructionsAbility and willingness to perform a variety of tasksAbility and willingness to keep accurate records and complete all necessary paperworkEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public in a courteous and tactful mannerAbility to accurately count moneyProvide clear communication to and from supervisor and the publicRegular and punctual attendanceAttend staff meetings and training sessionsOther Job FunctionsPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
