Clinical Nurse II - Duke Otolaryngology Cary Job Location:100 Duke Health Cary Pl, Cary, NC 27519 Job Summary:We are seeking a Clinical Nurse II in our Duke Otolaryngology Cary located in Cary, NC to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. Job Duties and Responsibilities:Room Patients and intake to include medications, history and vital signsComplete orders as per provider: Suture/Staple removalMedication Preparation and AdministrationSpecimen collectionDelegate tasks and supervise activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers Set-up and assist with various ENT related proceduresHigh Level disinfection and instrument sterilizationTeam Inbasket message managementCalling patients with resultsCardiac clearance for surgical proceduresFMLA/Disability, Work excuse s Assisting with Provider InBasket managementReview future clinic schedules, communicate with patients for upcoming appointments and procedures, gathering necessary imagingAssist with Triage coverage when Triage RN - answering calls, inbasket messages, medication refills, prior authorizationsClean and stock rooms. Monitor for supply and medication expirations dates. Unbox ordered supplies and confirm inventoryPreoperative / Postoperative Education: Provides educational materials, reviews pre-op instructions and ensures understanding of post-op care and recovery expectationsPerform other related duties incidental to the work described herein set by leadership team JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSWork requires graduation from an accredited BSN or Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program. Exception: Registered nurses hired between July 1, 2014 and April 11, 2021 without a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher) are expected to enroll in an appropriate BSN program within two years of their start date but must complete the program within seven years of their start date. Registered nurses hired before July 1, 2014 are not required to enroll in a BSN program to remain in this job classification.Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina. If candidate has another compact state RN license, NC state licensure must be obtained within 90 days of hireBLS required. JOB HOURSThe schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
