Position OverviewA leading heavy civil and materials contractor in the Philadelphia region is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of complex infrastructure and civil construction projects. This role will manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with field operations, internal materials divisions, and subcontractors to ensure safe, on-time, and profitable execution.The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, cost control expertise, and hands-on experience managing civil work in active, fast-paced environmentsKey ResponsibilitiesManage all phases of assigned heavy civil projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, execution, and closeoutCoordinate closely with field leadership to support daily operations and resolve constructability issuesOversee project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, change management, and margin protectionManage subcontractors, vendors, and internal crews to maintain productivity and schedule adherencePrepare and review RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change ordersLead project meetings with owners, inspectors, engineers, and internal stakeholdersEnsure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and contract requirementsCollaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams on project handoffs and bid supportQualifications5-10+ years of experience managing heavy civil or infrastructure projectsBackground in sitework, utilities, paving, earthwork, or transportation-related constructionStrong understanding of civil drawings, specifications, and DOT/municipal standardsProven ability to manage multiple scopes, crews, and subcontractors simultaneouslyExperience with project management and cost control software (HCSS, Primavera, MS Project, or similar)Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)Why This OpportunityLong-term stability with a contractor that controls both construction operations and materials productionStrong backlog of regional infrastructure and civil workOpportunity to grow within a well-established organization with deep roots in the Mid-Atlantic marketCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package
