Bariatric Medicine Nurse Practitioner

Baptist Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our rapidly growing Obesity Medicine & Bariatric Weight Loss Program in Jacksonville, Florida.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary program focused on evidence-based, patient-centered obesity care, supporting patients through medical weight management, lifestyle intervention, and bariatric surgery pathways. Position Highlights Outpatient bariatric and obesity medicine practiceDay shift schedule with work-life balanceCollaborative, team-based care modelCombination of in-person and telemedicine visitsGrowing program with opportunity to shape care pathways Responsibilities Provide comprehensive obesity medicine care, including medical weight management and lifestyle interventionPerform holistic patient evaluations (weight history, comorbidities, contributing factors, and barriers to weight loss)Collaborate closely with dietitians, wellness coaches, and behavioral health specialistsManage obesity-related medical conditions and optimize medications to support weight lossSupport patients pursuing bariatric surgery through education and pre-surgical optimizationProvide long-term follow-up for post-bariatric surgery patients, including management of weight regainParticipate in program expansion initiatives to improve surgical outcomes and reduce risk Ideal Candidate Patient-centered, compassionate, and team-orientedUnderstands obesity as a chronic and complex medical conditionInterested in obesity medicine and ongoing professional developmentEnjoys a dynamic, evolving clinical environment Qualifications Master s degree required (DNP preferred for NPs)Certified and licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (PA-C)New graduates welcome (less than 1 year experience accepted) Practice Location Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville DowntownJacksonville, Florida About Baptist Health Baptist Health is Northeast Florida s most preferred healthcare system, offering advanced medical technology, nationally recognized specialty programs, and a strong commitment to community health.
