Surgical Oncology Advanced Practice Provider

Are you a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant seeking a new permanent career in the Atlanta Metro Area?We are hiring a Surgical Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work with our Surgical Oncologist to provide high-quality, patient-centered care to patients with or at risk for cancer. This role encompasses clinical evaluation, perioperative management, patient education, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to optimize outcomes.Schedule: Full time Days, No Weekends or On Call!Overall responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assists the attending physician in providing a variety of patient care activities including daily inpatient rounds, outpatient follow-up visits, consults, writing orders, and procedural support.Collaborate with the surgeon to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, as well as assist with procedures which may include OR first assist.Recognizes and evaluates situations which call for immediate attention of the supervising surgeon or attending physicianOrders therapy treatments, diagnostic laboratory and radiological tests/procedures, and therapeutic diets as necessaryAssess patient perioperatively, customize perioperative and discharge plans.Sees patients in the office for cancer surveillance.Obtains and records detailed and accurate medical historiesActs as a liaison between nursing staff or other services and physicianFacilitates referral of patients to health facilities, agencies and community resourcesCompletes written documentation in line with policyRequirements:Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Nurse Practitioner (NP)Georgia RN license and Georgia Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licenseMinimum 3 years of Nurse Practitioner experiencePreferred 2 years surgical experience in surgeryDEA within 2 months of hireACLSBLSONS certification (optional)AOCNP (optional)Comprehensive benefits!
