Summary: St. Joseph Medical Center is looking for 2 Cardiothoracic Surgery APP to start ASAP pending credentialing!Schedule/Availability Requirements:M-F 3-4 days calls & a 1:4 weekend call. Hours are variable, but in general. M-F Schedule is mostly , but it is not shift work, some days may go beyond.If the Provider is on call the hours for that day would likely be 10-12+ hours. Weekend call shifts are variable depending on patient census, but generally 6 8+ hours per weekend day. Call days include carrying a pager for 24 hours.Facility Location: Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Cardiothoracic Surgery Saint Joseph Medical CenterSetting: InpatientFTE: 1.0General Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with pre and post operative patient evaluation and treatmentOR First assistCoronary artery bypass and all valve surgeriesAortic reconstruction and aortic arch reconstructionRobotic assisted thoracic surgeriesEndoscopic vein harvestOpen radial artery harvestMinimally invasive valvesVATS and DaVinci Robot Thoracic ProceduresThoracic and fore-gut proceduresICU & Step-down managementEmergent procedures on the floor as required. (Chest tube insertions, arterial line insertions etc.)Daily roundsDischarge summariesCall every 6th night and every 6th weekendPre-and post-op patients, inpatients and outpatientsEvening, night and weekend surgeriesWeekend patient roundsWalk-in/urgent clinic visits when primary surgeon is not availableClinic wound checks as needed5 perm surgeons on staff (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic) 4 mid levels (3 PA, 1 NP and 1 in training)Cases- 6-8 hearts/week, 9-12 thoracic/weekNot willing to train Locum, if they have limited thoracic exp. we can keep them in the heart room or on the floor.
