Position Details Setting:Inpatient consult service at Maryview Medical Center in Portsmouth, VAOccasional need for outpatient clinic coverage at the Harbour View area in Suffolk, VARare cross-coverage possible at Mary Immaculate Hospital in Newport News, VAAdult/Geriatric population onlyAverage 6 8 patients per daySchedule:Full-time, Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PMFour 10-hour shifts with a rotating day offNo call What You ll Do Deliver expert inpatient palliative consultations, including chart review, patient assessment, and symptom managementConduct meaningful goals-of-care conversations, advance care planning, and end-of-life discussionsProvide emotional and spiritual support to patients and familiesCoordinate care with referring teams, nursing, social work, chaplaincy, and other involved providersUse robust tools including EPIC, MyChart, and DAX CoPilot/AI documentation supportContribute to a warm, patient-centered environment where dignity, comfort, and communication are key What We re Looking For 3 5 years of palliative care experience (highly preferred)A provider who demonstrates emotional intelligence, compassion, and a patient-first mindsetSomeone who values teamwork, communication, and a mission-driven approach to care What We Offer Competitive base salary + annual quality bonusUp to $5,000 relocation assistance (taxable)32 days ATO annuallyAnnual $3,000 CME allowanceMedical, dental, vision, Rx, FSA, life insurance403(b) with company matchCompany-paid short & long-term disabilityFull coverage of VA license, DEA, liability, and tail insuranceA supportive environment with strong clinical and Medical Director mentorship About Bon Secours Mercy Health You're in good company here.
