Emergency Department APPMcLaren Greater Lansing is building a float pool of Advanced Practice Providers (NPs/PAs) to support its Level III Emergency Department. APPs will function independently in the Fast Track area while working alongside attending emergency physicians and residents.Facility OverviewLevel III Emergency DepartmentAnnual ED volume: 40,150 visitsAverage 110 patients per day, divided among providers50-bed ED20% admission rate from EDApproximately 60% of hospital admissions originate from the EDEMR: CernerAPP Role & ResponsibilitiesIndependent coverage of Fast Track ( VUE ), a 10-bed area within the EDAttending physicians available 24/7 for consultation and case reviewNo supervision required for resident cases (handled by physicians)Fast Track patients may transition to main ED as neededSchedule & CoverageOne APP shift daily: 11:00 AM 11:00 PM, 7 days/weekSingle physician coverage from 2:00 AM 8:00 AMPeak physician coverage from 2:00 PM 6:00 PM (3 physicians on duty)Emergency Medicine residents cover an average of two shifts per day at varied timesClinical Support & Services24/7 Radiology and Laboratory servicesAABB Blood BankPathologyOperating RoomAll surgical specialties availableOB patients are sent directly to Labor & DeliveryTransfer protocols:Pediatrics SparrowStroke McLaren FlintSevere trauma SparrowRequirementsBoard Certified NP or PAMinimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experienceActive Michigan medical license (IMLC not accepted)DEA (verbal confirmation at name clear)ACLS and ATLS certificationsClean background for expedited credentialingMust be local provider (required, no exceptions)NPDB self-query within 30 days at presentationCredentialing & ComplianceImmunization and occupational health clearance required:Hep B, MMR, Varicella (vaccines or titers)Current season FluCOVID documentationTB within 12 monthsTdap within 10 yearsSite uses DocTime for clock-in/clock-out (no timesheets accepted)Additional NotesBoard certification requiredMed staff fees are not reimbursedTravel and expense reimbursement subject to McLaren policy limitations
