Job Description

We’re looking for an individual who embodies the luxury lifestyle experience. An ideal Andaz Savannah team member will have a passion for exceptional hotel service and will be able to express that belief in an atmosphere of spontaneity and authenticity. The perfect candidate should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will oversee the food and beverage areas within the hotel. Responsibilities may include scheduling, forecasting and training, ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws as well as all operating procedures. This person may also coordinate special events at the hotel. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager must have strong communication and analytical skills. Food and Beverage cost control experience is helpful. Ordering, receiving, inventories, organizing, and selling of all offered beveragesExtensive cost management experience requiredOversee beverage training, classes, pre-shifts, and other continuing educational itemsAssist team members and guests during service with beverage recommendations and selection for the perfect pairing for their food or general experienceHandles multiple priorities, works under stress and exercises good judgment when dealing with all guest and internal situationsEnsures that guests receive excellent service at all timesEnsures that health and safety standards and procedures are respectedUnderstands how to anticipate and deliver customer needs and must demonstrate a true passion for luxury serviceIdentify and implement creative logistical solutions when neededWork with Food & Beverage Manager to manage Beverage Partnerships and Programs, including Core Beverage Corporate ComplianceWorks with vendors to cultivate unique and cost effective menusOversee the food and beverage areas within the hotel Works with the Programming/Sales department when needed for any beverage sponsorship needsWorks with the Sales team with beverage selections and service during eventsWorks with marketing, social media, and PR to drive revenue and create interestEnsures that company standards with regards to service are followed at all timesPerforms duties that require organization, speed, and efficiencyAssist in other areas of the restaurant and hotel when neededAssist in vetting and hiring of new employeesWrites all bar schedulesQualifications: Minimum of 2 years as F&B Management preferred Wine/beverage knowledge in an upscale environment preferred Ideal applicant should have strong organizational skills, ability to work with flexible work schedule, be a team player and a dynamic leader
