This is a hands-on, standards-driven environment built for cooks who want to develop real skills. This role is ideal for someone who wants to learn deeply, work closely with experienced cooks and chefs, and grow within a focused, professional kitchen. Responsibilities Execute dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail Participate in daily prep and service across multiple stations as needed Learn and assist with butchery and fundamental meat fabrication Work with fresh pasta dough, including hand-sheeting pasta fresca Support advanced cooking techniques as appropriate to experience level Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards at all times Collaborate closely with a small, tight-knit kitchen team during service Kitchen Environment Join a small team of dedicated food professionals Emphasis on technique, repetition, and fundamentals Hands-on exposure to butchery, pasta production, and refined execution Direct mentorship and learning opportunities built into daily work Schedule Full-time, dinner service focused Two consecutive days off per week Two planned one-week closures annually: first week of January and first week of September Qualifications Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required for the right candidate Strong work ethic, curiosity, and attention to detail Willingness to learn and take direction Ability to work cleanly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment Compensation Hourly position, based on experience Overtime paid in accordance with New Jersey labor laws Growth opportunities tied to skill development and performance Additional At-will employment Equal opportunity employer More detail about Woodcliff Lake, please visit
