Position OverviewA leading, employee-owned commercial general contractor in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support complex construction projects in the Seattle market. This role is ideal for a seasoned PE ready to take on increased responsibility, serve as a technical leader on project teams, and progress toward a Project Manager role.The Senior Project Engineer will play a key role in managing project documentation, coordinating with design and trade partners, supporting cost and schedule control, and ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project goals.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport project management teams through all phases of construction, from preconstruction through closeoutManage and process RFIs, submittals, drawing logs, and document control using industry-standard platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam)Assist with cost tracking, change management, pay applications, and buyout supportCoordinate closely with field teams to resolve constructability issues and support day-to-day operationsParticipate in subcontractor coordination meetings and assist with schedule updates and look-ahead planningSupport quality control efforts, site logistics planning, and safety compliance initiativesInterface with owners, architects, engineers, and inspectors to maintain alignment and timely issue resolutionContribute to project closeout documentation, commissioning support, and turnover processesAct as a mentor to junior project engineers and interns as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field3-8+ years of experience with a commercial general contractor or construction management firmExperience working on mid- to large-scale commercial construction projects ($20M+)Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods, and document control processesProficiency with construction technology platforms (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Office required)Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPreferred ExperienceExperience on complex commercial projects such as life sciences, healthcare, higher education, or large mixed-use developmentsExposure to LEED, sustainability initiatives, or mission-critical environmentsDemonstrated interest in career progression toward Project ManagerWhy This OpportunityJoin a highly respected, employee-owned contractor with a strong presence in the Seattle marketWork on high-profile, technically challenging projectsClear career development path with strong mentorship and leadership supportCompetitive compensation, performance incentives, and comprehensive benefits
