Join Our Team as a Surgery Oncology Nurse Practitioner and Make a Difference in Cancer Care Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of the prestigious Allina Health Cancer Institute, is seeking a highly skilled Surgery Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) specializing in Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic (HPB) oncology for an exciting locum opportunity. Key Responsibilities: Provide independent outpatient and inpatient clinical care for cancer patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultations in collaboration with surgical and medical teams.Coordinate pre- and post-surgical care, ensuring seamless communication and optimal patient outcomes.Assist in the operating room, including patient prepping, surgical assistance, and closure.Perform procedures such as wound care and drain management, contributing to comprehensive patient support.Educate patients about treatment plans, managing chronic illnesses, and promoting wellness.Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, therapies, and medical equipment within the scope of practice.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and act as a resource for staff and patients, ensuring high-quality, coordinated care.Required Skills and Qualifications: MN licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).Proven experience in surgical oncology, specifically in Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic oncology.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills.Excellent communication and patient education skills.Nice to Have Skills: Experience in outpatient and inpatient oncology settings.Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and care coordination tools.Strong procedural skills, including wound and drain management.Preferred Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Physician Assistant Studies (Master s level or higher).Minimum of 2 years of oncology or surgical subspecialty experience.Prior work in a hospital or large healthcare system environment.Other Requirements: Ability to start as soon as possible.Availability for scheduled hours from 07:30 to 16:00, Monday through Friday.Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and team collaboration.Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed for inpatient care responsibilities.Compensation & Benefits: Hourly pay rate of $111.39.Competitive pay packages with weekly direct deposit.Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2).Robust referral bonus program.Paid sick time compliant with applicable laws.Reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and related expenses when applicable.Dedicated support team committed to your success every step of the way.This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your career in a dynamic, nationwide leader in cancer care.
