We've achieved significant growth in only 10 years and are currently owned by a private equity firm.We are proud to be listed as #23 in Fortune's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing & Production, and have been certified as a Great Place to Work since 2022.Purpose/Summary:The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and sustainment of high-reliability RF electronic hardware used in defense, aerospace, and mission-critical applications. This role owns electrical design execution from concept through production and ensures products meet stringent performance, quality, and compliance requirements.The Electrical Engineer plays a critical role in delivering robust, repeatable designs that align with Mission Microwave's commitment to technical excellence, manufacturability, and long-term program success.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Design & Product DevelopmentDesign and develop RF electronic products from concept, schematic, and layout through test, qualification, and manufacturing releaseCreate electrical architectures for RF, AC/DC power, and monitoring & control (M&C) circuitryPerform electrical analysis at the board and component level to validate performance, margins, and reliabilitySupport design reviews, technical trade studies, and engineering change activity PCB Design & AnalysisDevelop schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard design toolsEnsure PCB designs meet electrical, thermal, mechanical, and manufacturing requirementsApply best practices for signal integrity, grounding, shielding, and high-frequency performanceSupport fabrication, assembly, and bring-up of prototype and production hardware Test, Validation & TroubleshootingPerform hands-on electrical and RF testing using standard lab equipmentDevelop test plans, procedures, and documentation to support verification and validation activitiesTroubleshoot and resolve circuit-level and system-level issues during development and productionSupport failure analysis and corrective action efforts Manufacturing & Cross-Functional SupportPartner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure designs are buildable, repeatable, and production-readyInvestigate, evaluate, and qualify components for Bills of Materials (BOMs)Support production ramp, yield improvement, and cost-reduction initiativesContribute to the continuous improvement of engineering and manufacturing processes Quality, Compliance & DocumentationEnsure designs comply with applicable IPC, MIL-STD, ISO, and AS standardsSupport internal and external audits as requiredMaintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and revision control Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical fieldMinimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Electrical EngineerStrong ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and debug electronic and RF circuits and systemsHands-on experience with electronic and RF test equipmentProficiency with Altium Designer or equivalent PCB design toolsExperience modeling and analyzing circuits using SPICEWorking knowledge of IPC-610 and MIL-STD-883, -750, and -1580Understanding of ISO and AS quality systems and controlsStrong understanding of PCB design, layout, fabrication, and circuit board assemblyAbility to create test procedures, documentation, and reportsStrong written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-reliability environment Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Electrical Engineering or related disciplineExperience programming embedded processorsExperience developing software applications or GUIsFamiliarity with MRP/ERP systems (MAS90, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)Experience using engineering database systems (Omnify or similar)Knowledge of manufacturing operations, including soldering, wire bonding, die attach, machining, plating, and PCBAs Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone Physical & Work Environment RequirementsMust be able to work on-site 100% of the time, excluding approved PTO or protected leaveAbility to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs as requiredWork environment includes office space, laboratory areas, and manufacturing floors with moderate noise At Mission Microwave, you don't just take a job; you step into a mission that matters.
