Medical Director -- Leadership Qualities, Responsibilities & Qualifications: We are looking for someone who will foster a positive, supportive environment that will encourage learning and collaboration across our team. We want someone who instills teamwork! You should be passionate about providing quality medicine, client education, and exceptional service to our loyal clientele. Advancing Medical CareOversee surgical and medical cases for all doctors, ensuring positive outcomes, accurate estimates, and client communication and educationAnswer client questions and concerns regarding medical and surgical proceduresProvide oversight and direction of medical standards, quality of care and inventoryEstablish medical protocolsOversee the transfer of medical cases from doctor to doctorMinimizes waste and controls costs relating to medical supplies, surgical instruments, and drug inventoriesLeading Staff and PracticeParticipate in recruiting and interviewing process for Doctors, and when appropriate general staff membersBe passionate about Mentoring other AssociatesMonitor Doctor performance and productionParticipates in technician appraisal and medical counseling sessionsEnsure all medical staff receive applicable training, including the mentoring of new graduatesSupports the Hospital Manager with staff training programs and tracking CE and DVM licensureFinancial ResponsibilitiesDrive revenue and contribute to hospital growth, including managing hospital expensesAssist in the preparation of an annual planning strategy, operating budget and capital budgetMonitors key financial reportsDrives patient visits and encourages community involvementEmbrace change and support interests within the hospitalMonitors client service, marketing, and growth initiativesSkills and Basic QualificationsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited universityLicensure in good standing to practice in the state of North CarolinaCommitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethicsDemonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skillsDelegates tasks and achieves results with hospital team membersMakes decisions confidently and effectivelyLeads employees by coaching, correcting, developing, and motivating them to achieve successManages time and tasks appropriatelyModels a professional and courteous manner with staff and clientsHidden Valley Animal Hospital is central to many shopping, eating and entertainment venues, as well as several trails and greenways options.Glenwood South, Brier Creek and Downtown Raleigh are also just a mere 20-minute drive and boast museums geared to all age groups, restaurants owned by world famous chefs, and fun nightlife.For more information, please visit our website at:National Veterinary Associates is a leading global pet care organization united in the love of animals and the people who love them.At NVA, we’re on a mission to improve the lives of pets and the people who love them.
