Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Coverage Needed Start Date: ASAP End Date: Ongoing Schedule: M-F, (variable hours), 3-4 days calls & 1:4 weekend call Call: 24-hour pager, 10-12+ hours on call days, 6-8+ hours per weekend day Full time coverage Clinical Details Inpatient setting General Duties: Assist with pre- and post-operative patient evaluation and treatment (inpatients and outpatients) OR first assist for coronary artery bypass, valve surgeries, aortic and aortic arch reconstruction Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries, VATS, DaVinci Robot Thoracic Procedures, minimally invasive valves Thoracic and fore-gut procedures Endoscopic vein harvest and open radial artery harvest ICU & step-down management; daily rounds and discharge summaries Emergent procedures as required (e.g., chest tube and arterial line insertions) Evening, night, and weekend surgeries; weekend patient rounds Walk-in/urgent clinic visits and clinic wound checks as needed Cases: 6-8 hearts/week, 9-12 thoracic/week EMR: EPIC Support Staff: RN, 5 permanent surgeons on staff (3 cardiac, 2 thoracic), 4 mid-levels (3 PA, 1 NP, and 1 in training) 20 patients per day (Adult) Only willing to train locum looking to transition to perm Robotic assisted thoracic surgeries (90% of thoracic cases are robotics) Requirements Board Certification: Required State License: WA highly preferred, will consider IMLC Residency/Fellowship: 3 years of CV/CT surgery experience required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, DEA required Malpractice: Clean record required Self-Query NPDB report (within 30 days)
