Role OverviewThis position is responsible for overseeing and executing the organization's financial operations with a focus on profitability, financial integrity, and long-term growth. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Accounting, the role combines strategic leadership with hands-on financial management and serves as a key partner to executive leadership and Houston-based operations.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide financial analysis and insights to senior leadership to support strategic and long-term decision-makingEstablish and maintain strong financial controls and business processes across the organization, continuously improving efficiency and cross-functional workflowsManage all accounting and finance activities for the Houston operationLead the annual operating budget and periodic forecast updates, partnering closely with Houston business unit leadersTrack and analyze monthly performance against budgets and forecasts, including variance analysisOversee cash disbursement approvals for the Houston business unitSupervise Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams in HoustonServe as the primary ERP resource for accounting and operations teams, providing guidance and supportQualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required; CPA or MBA preferred8+ years of finance and accounting experience, including 3+ years in a supervisory role2+ years of construction accounting experience using the percentage-of-completion methodStrong knowledge of GAAPExperience with Oracle JD Edwards preferredSkills and CompetenciesAdvanced Microsoft Excel proficiency and strong overall computer skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, changing environmentHigh attention to detail, balanced with the ability to understand the big-picture business impact
