OVERVIEWThe Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for projects by analyzing plans and specifications, completing site visits, and communicating with internal & external shareholders. This role supports project profitability by ensuring bids are communicated clearly, thorough, and timely.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Review drawings, specifications, and other bid documents to determine project requirementsPerform detailed quantity take-offs and identify subcontracted work and vendor itemsConduct site visits to assess existing conditions, access, preparation needs, and scope risksPrepare accurate cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages for commercial and/or residential projectsCoordinate with project managers, operations, and vendors to verify scope and pricingIdentify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives when requestedTrack and manage bid deadlines and ensure timely submissionUse existing folder structure to maintain organized recordsParticipate in job handoff meetings and provide estimating support during project executionReview change orders and assist with pricing additional work, as neededProviding guidance, training, and support to Jr Estimators to ensure work meets quality and company standardsBe knowledge in, and enforce, project safety requirements and OSHA construction standardsPOSITION REQUIREMENTSStrong knowledge of painting systems & techniques, surface prep methods, coatings, and equipmentAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsProficiency in estimating software, spreadsheets, and take-off toolsStrong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyEffective communication and negotiation skillsAbility to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlinesStrong communication skills, both oral and written, bilingual a plusProblem solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing situationsWear appropriate work attire, and PPE, per company policyAble to identify, investigate and communicate problems and be able to provide alternatives and consequencesQualificationsMust have valid driver's license3+ years of experience as a painting estimator or in construction estimatingExperience with commercial, industrial, or residential painting projectsFamiliarity with production rates, labor forecasting, and job costingKnowledge of safety standards and construction best practicesKnowledge of painting techniques and methodsBilingual, is a plus but not required
