Landscape Construction Operations Manager

The operations manager will spend the majority of their time on job sites, actively working with crews to execute projects while training and developing the team around them. The performance of an operations manager will be judged upon the following deliverablesProject ExecutionWork hands-on with the field staff to execute the project scopes of work, including, but not limited to:Site prep and gradingHardscape and masonrySoftscape installationsIrrigation, lighting, and drainageEnsure both the quality and timeliness of work performedDevelop the skills of the team through on-the-job trainingDemonstrate best practices for organization, care of equipment, work ethic, and client communicationProvide foremen with clear, executable plans for their jobsPerform layout of job sites and properly set elevations and gradesManage handoff between hardscape and softscape crewsMonitor crews for proper execution based on Outerland's SOPs through regular daily and weekly check-ins until project completionPersonnel ManagementHire, manage, and maintain a staff of high-performing team players who uphold the company values and contribute to the high performance of the construction team. Included within this responsibility is:Hire staff to fulfill the needs of the construction team, while monitoring the crew's average wage to make sure it stays within budgetWith the support of the PM, ensure all HR paperwork is completed in a timely manner in conjunction with the Director of HR. Paperwork includesManage staff's compliance with Outerland Policies, including but not limited to, attendance, safety, and care of equipmentEquipment and Fleet ManagementOversee the utilization of equipment to ensure it is properly used and maintained, and that equipment expense is carefully controlled within budget.Manage the care of shared construction equipmentVerify that all equipment is being properly maintained through regular inspectionEnsure all foremen are completing DOT circle checks dailyTrain all employees in the proper use and maintenance of equipment prior to use.Snow ManagementFulfill a management role in snow removal.
