Now Hiring: Plumbing Estimator - Commercial PlumbingLocation: Matthews, NCSalary: $75,000-$100,000 per year plus benefitsStart Date: ASAP, Full-TimeWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Estimator to join our team and support the success of commercial plumbing projects across the region. This role plays a critical part in preparing accurate and competitive bids, evaluating project documents, coordinating with internal and external partners, and ensuring estimates meet company standards for quality and profitability.Position SummaryThe Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and scopes of work to determine labor, material, and equipment costs. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams. The Estimator directly contributes to project success by producing high-quality bid packages and supporting preconstruction efforts.Reporting Structure• Reports to the Senior Director of Estimating and Client Services• Works closely with Preconstruction, management, suppliers, subcontractors, and customersRequired Competencies• Strong written and verbal communication skills• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prepare detailed bid packages• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities• High professionalism, integrity, and work ethic• Ability to build strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and team members• Flexible, self-motivated, and detail-oriented• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn industry-specific softwareExperience• Minimum of two years of commercial plumbing estimating experience• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical specifications, and construction documentsTechnical Skills• Ability to calculate material quantities, labor hours, discounts, interest, and other cost-related figures• Understanding of construction safety requirements• Ability to use standard office equipment and estimating software• Valid driver's license and reliable transportationKey Responsibilities• Review blueprints and specifications to determine project scope and cost drivers• Prepare detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead• Develop and submit complete bid packages by required deadlines• Track project data and compare actual costs to estimates• Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor material pricing and lead times• Request necessary permits, licenses, and bonds• Ensure estimates support proper profit margins and maintain strong bid-to-award ratios• Maintain historical job files for reference and improvement• Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency• Uphold company values by avoiding office gossip and maintaining professionalism• Perform additional duties as assigned by Preconstruction management
