Vice President of ConstructionLocationMust live within commuting distance to Los Angeles, office occasionally then onsite as needed or WFH pensation$250,000 to $300,000+ base salary, plus performance bonus and long term incentivesRole OverviewThe Vice President of Construction is a senior executive leader responsible for overseeing all construction operations across a growing national design build platform. This role partners closely with executive leadership, design, preconstruction, and field teams to drive operational excellence, scalability, and predictable project delivery across multiple regions and high velocity construction programs.This leader will set strategy, build teams, standardize systems, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule, on budget, and to a high level of quality while maintaining strong client relationships.Key Responsibilities• Lead and scale construction operations across multiple markets and project teams• Oversee project executives, project managers, superintendents, and field leadership• Partner with design and preconstruction teams to ensure seamless design build execution• Establish and enforce standards for scheduling, cost control, quality, and safety• Drive accountability across teams for financial performance and client satisfaction• Review and approve project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and risk strategies• Support business development by participating in pursuits, client meetings, and presentations• Build systems and processes that support rapid delivery cycles and repeat client programs• Mentor and develop future leaders within construction and operations• Serve as executive escalation point for critical projects and client issuesProject Environment and Preferred Experience• Fast paced, high volume commercial construction• Strong design build delivery model• Gas stations, convenience stores, fuel facilities, and other rapid turnaround site driven projects• Retail and specialty commercial programs with repeat clients• Aggressive schedules with construction documentation often completed in 6 to 12 weeks• Heavy coordination across civil, utilities, environmental, and permitting scopesQualifications• 10+ years of progressive construction leadership experience• Prior experience as a VP, Senior Director, or Project Executive overseeing multiple teams• Prefer direct project experience with gas stations, convenience retail, fuel facilities, or similarly fast paced construction environments strongly preferred• Proven ability to manage high velocity schedules with multiple concurrent projects• Strong background in design build and operational leadership• Deep understanding of construction financials, scheduling, and risk management• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence at the executive level• Experience managing geographically distributed teams• California construction experience strongly preferredLeadership Traits• Builder mindset with a strong operational backbone• Comfortable in high growth, high accountability environments• Direct, decisive, and solutions oriented• Strong communicator with owners, partners, and internal teams• Passion for developing people and building durable teams
