Job Family: Mechanical Design Engineering Job Profile Title: Mechanical Integration Engineer- DCI Liquid CoolingLocation/Division Specific Information: Austin, TX; this position is remote eligibleHow will you make an impact?The Mechanical Integration Engineer will have a critical understanding of manufacturing processes for thermal components and solid comprehension of thermal design and analysis to lead and oversee the mechanical systems essential for Data Center Infrastructure functionality. This role will involve developing specifications, selecting key components, component placement, selecting fastening methods, and transitioning design to manufacturing. Additionally, the position includes leading test process implementation and equipment selection to maintain the highest standards of operational excellence and reliability.What will you do? - Have a strong background in liquid cooling technology used in data center design and buildout.Act as the subject matter expert on all matters related, including wetted materials aspects, to single phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers, including primary and in-rack cooling solutions.Ability to detail operational expectations for LC Racks, Manifolds and other LC infrastructure (Pressure Ratings, Temperature Ranges (in/outlet), Flow Uniformity and Durability)Proficiency with testing concepts for leaks/mitigation and hydrostatic pressure validation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion assessments to comply with international standards such as ASME and ISO.In depth knowledge of rack manifold manufacturing, design and function (Machining and Welding, Surface Finishing, Material and Surface Treatments, Post-Production Cleaning, Flow Optimization, Thermal Expansion, Connection Interfaces, High-Point Vents and Low-Point Drains)Utilize CAD tools, CAE tools, and equipment for engineering tasks; Review CAD/Technical Data Packages to determine and validate mechanical design requirements for components and their functions within a system environmentResponsible for understanding product specifications, plumbing, and hydronic systems to lead reviews with all disciplines ensuring the design and components meet performance and applicable code requirementsUnderstanding and conducting stress and flow analysis to ensure that the piping systems can withstand operational conditions without failureAbility to prepare technical specifications for piping components and systems, including testing procedures, installation procedures and maintenance guidelinesHow will you get here?Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is requiredExperience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical system integration Proven track record of successful system designs and implementations in a relevant industry Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategy, and system coordination is a must Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsCreative, self-motivated, accountable, and team-orientedAble to work independently with minimal oversightProficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting general business publications, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulationsSkilled in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural guidesEffective at presenting information and responding to management, clients, and public queriesCapable of influencing others and sharing best practicesComfortable working as part of a global teamCapable of assessing projects, articulating risks, and developing project milestonesFamiliar with stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management (PLCM).Able to mentor less experienced engineers Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Strong communication and teamwork abilities Ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30% Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in engineering is preferred Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to Data Center Infrastructure is preferredA suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training may be consideredAnnual Target Bonus: 20%
