About the Position The company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design and engineering of complex HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and institutional projects. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with mentorship and cross-functional collaboration. The ideal candidate is a seasoned mechanical engineer who thrives on solving challenging design problems, enjoys guiding junior engineers, and wants to contribute to high-quality, high-impact MEP projects. Key responsibilities include: Leading HVAC and plumbing system design for complex commercial and institutional projects Developing conceptual and detailed engineering solutions aligned with performance, cost, and sustainability goals Collaborating closely with engineering and project management teams from design through construction Mentoring junior engineers and designers; reviewing calculations, drawings, and specifications Conducting site visits and providing engineering support during construction Ensuring designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project budgets Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering 7+ years of mechanical/HVAC design experience with a consulting engineering firm or MEP contractor Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and HVAC design software (e.g., Trane TRACE 700 or newer) Deep understanding of building mechanical systems, design standards, and construction methods Excellent communication and collaboration skills Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 25% Benefits Competitive salary up to $140,000, based on experience Opportunity to lead technically complex, high-visibility projects Collaborative, team-focused engineering environment Professional growth and leadership development opportunities Comprehensive benefits package, including health, retirement, and paid time off
