Our client, North Americas top General Contractor, is seeking a Quality Director. This person will be a Thought Leader setting up and leading quality programs nationwide for the building envelope.Overview:Quality Director is responsible for leading and managing the quality assurance strategy across all field operations. This role ensures that construction practices meet or exceed industry standards, client expectations, and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep expertise in field quality, construction methodologies, and continuous improvement.The Quality Director develops strategies that integrate quality with safety, productivity, and profitability. They will report to the Operations Leader and collaborate with the Director of Field Operations, Operations Managers, and project teams to execute the company's strategic objectives and serves as the functional leader for the execution of field quality standards for the company.The job could be located anywhere there is a major company office in the continental United States.Responsibilities:Develop and implement a comprehensive field quality management system across all projects.Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate and enhance field quality.Provide technical reviews, lead root cause analysis and drives corrective action for field-related quality issues.Conduct regular site visits to assess quality practices and ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and safety standards.Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and trade contractors to enforce quality protocols.Operationalizing the quality program to ensure consistent implementation company-wideProvides centralized corporate oversight and direction for all site-based quality programsDesign and deliver training programs for field personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement; incorporate Company's operational procedures and software tools to the existing quality program.Establish a network of Subject Matter Experts (SME) to reinforce the quality program across critical technical disciplines including building facade, roofing systems, fire protection, water mitigation systems, etc.Build and maintain partnerships with suppliers and vendors to deliver technical support, optimize design solutions, conduct training, and contribute expert insights.Develop and administer standardized procedures for conducting quality inspectionsIdentify and coordinate quality activities with safe practices.Establishes and enforces quality control standards to ensure construction projects meet or exceed industry standards and client expectationsAssesses quality-related risks and hazards in construction projects and devises mitigation strategies to reduce potential impacts; collaborates with insurance and legal teams to evaluate contractual, legal, and additional risk mitigation tools to bolster enterprise risk strategies and protections.Fosters a culture of continuous learning, innovation, accountability and excellence throughout the organization, driving employee engagementProvides leadership, guidance, and mentorship to field employees to promote professional growthFosters a positive and inclusive work environment to motivate and engage team membersKEY COMPETENCIESBuild High Performing Teams - Attract, select, develop, recognize, and retain talented individuals. Manage emotions effectively in ourselves and our relationships.Qualifications:EXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBachelor's degree in business administration, Construction Management, Engineering or related field15+ years in the construction industry or related field, with a focus on field operations with expertise in building envelope systemsOr equivalent combination of education and experienceCertifications such as ASQ CQE, Lean Six Sigma, or similar are highly desirable.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESProven experience in a senior leadership role in the construction industryStrong strategic planning and problem-solving skillsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to build and maintain positive relationshipsIn-depth knowledge of quality standards and industry best practicesKnowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standardsKnowledge in building envelop systems and water infiltration mitigation strategies
