Pharmacist

A New York City Supermarket Chain with three pharmacies has an immediate opening for aSupervising Pharmacist. The successful candidate will have a pleasant, customer service-orienteddemeanor, have excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work aflexible schedule that includes working some Saturday and Sunday shifts on occasion. ThePharmacist will dispense prescription medications to patients and offer expertise in the safe useof prescriptions. They also may provide advice on how to lead a healthy lifestyle, conduct healthand wellness screenings, provide immunizations, and oversee the medications given to patients.Responsibilitiesï‚· Fill prescriptions, verifying instructions from physicians on the proper amounts ofmedication to give to patients.ï‚· Check whether the prescription will interact negatively with other drugs that a patient istaking or any medical conditions the patient has.ï‚· Instruct patients on how and when to take a prescribed medicine and inform them aboutpotential side effects they may experience from taking the medicine.ï‚· Advise patients about general health topics, such as diet, exercise, and managing stress,and on other issues, such as what equipment or supplies would be best to treat a healthproblem.ï‚· Give flu shots and other vaccinations.ï‚· Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information andadvice.ï‚· Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for eachindividual patient.ï‚· Keep records of patient history and of all activities regarding heavy medicationï‚· Keep abreast of advancements in medicine by attending conferences and seminars andcollaborating with other healthcare professionals.ï‚· Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations and procedures.Requirementsï‚· Proven experience as a pharmacistï‚· Thorough understanding of dosage administration and measurement, chemicalcompounds, medical brands etc.ï‚· Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and Pharmacy information systems (McKesson)ï‚· Excellent organizing skillsï‚· Excellent communication skills with a customer centric approachï‚· Integrity and compassionï‚· Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacologyï‚· Valid license to practice the profession in the State of NYï‚· Must be available to work a flexible schedule. Weekends a must.Pay$60-$65 per hour
