A stealth‑mode AI company is building an automated lab to accelerate scientific and materials discovery. The team combines scientists and engineers to design high‑throughput experimental platforms powered by automation. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will own the mechanical backbone of tools, fixtures, and enclosures in this environment. ResponsibilitiesTranslate user and system requirements into clear mechanical specifications and interface definitions. Lead DFM/DFS with vendors; review drawings, GD&T/tolerance stacks, and materials/finishes. Define and execute factory and site acceptance tests; drive punch‑list closure with integrators and suppliers. Support onsite assembly, alignment, anchoring, and rigging with contractors and facilities teams. Design and own fixtures, frames, guarding, enclosures, and mounting solutions for automation systems. Maintain BOMs, revision control, and as‑built documentation; ensure machine safety and ergonomics. QualificationsBS or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field. 5–8+ years in mechanical design with vendor‑facing manufacturing (machining, sheet metal, plastics). Strong CAD (e.g., SolidWorks & PDM), GD&T, tolerance analysis, and drawing control. Experience with fixtures, frames, and enclosures for mechatronic/automation systems. Comfortable working onsite for installs and bring‑up in a fast‑paced lab environment. Bonus: robotics/automation experience, exposure to P&IDs/utilities, and FEA for structural/thermal analysis.#J-18808-Ljbffr
