Executive Director Main Line Surgery Center An ophthalmology only ASC performing 10,000 surgeries annuallyCompensation commensurate with experienceReports to: Board of ManagersResponsible for:Business Office ManagerAdministrative StaffMain Function The Administrator is responsible for the administration, leadership, direction, and coordination of allfinancial related activities of the Surgery Center according to its policies, procedures, philosophy and objectives. Includes responsibility for all aspects of environmental control, personnel, materials and equipment, education of personnel, and human resources. May delegate some responsibilities and duties to both professional and non-professional personnel.RequirementsDemonstrates close attention to detail and strong organizational and leadership skillsDemonstrates cooperative work attitude toward employees, physicians and their office personnel, patients, visitors and contracted personnelMust have a clear understanding of the business and financial management requirements of the Surgery CenterMust have a clear understanding of the requirements established by the PA DOH and Joint CommissionMust be committed to excellence in the nursing care and safety of patientsDuties and ResponsibilitiesPlans, controls, directs and coordinates all administrative duties for proper functioning of the Surgery Center, including personnel managementDetermines policies and procedures in accordance with the Surgery Center’s mission and philosophy. Enforces and evaluates policy and procedures.Provides assistance to supervisory personnel to develop performance standards, policies and procedures, job descriptions, and maintain regulatory complianceOversight of Human Resources, including the employee handbook, benefits, payroll, salary administration, personnel appraisals and 401K planMaintains Joint Commission AccreditationEnsures all regulatory matters and licenses are currentPlans, directs and coordinates business and financial activities with the Board of Managers and the accountantOversees the operation of the business office, delegating day to day duties to the Office Manager. Develop appropriate internal controls with the accountantEnsures payer contracts are current, in addition to addressing issues. Negotiate payer contracts with Network/Provider Representatives.Perform month end reporting and audit A/R, Aging, and Revenues by payerDevelop a budget with the accountant, review quarterlyReviews monthly financial statements with the bookkeeper and accountant if neededReviews daily cash report and transfer money as needed to the operating accountDetermine timing of checks for accounts payable, review invoices, purchase orders for correct account codes and pricing. Sign all checks with the Medical Director as neededAnnually reviews insurance policies with our broker and Board of ManagersPlans, directs and coordinates all Quality Improvement activitiesDevelops the agenda for all meetings with QIRNReports QI activities to the Board of Managers, oversees implementation of Quality Improvement recommendations from the Medical Advisory Board and Board of ManagersEnsures all complaints or issues are addressed in a timely mannerMeets with the Medical Advisory Board and the Board of Managers QuarterlyEx Officio member of the boardWrites and distributes minutes of all meetingsQualifications 1. A minimum of two years administrative experience in a Surgery Center or other health care entity. Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of accounting, budgeting and forecasting.2.
