Job OverviewAs a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care for animals in a veterinary setting. You will assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating various animal health issues while ensuring the comfort and safety of our patients. Your expertise and compassion will contribute significantly to the overall well-being of the animals under our care.Duties- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze samples.- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.- Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any changes or concerns to the veterinarian.- Provide proper restraint and handling of animals during examinations and procedures.- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.- Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.- Assist with pet grooming as needed, including bathing and nail trimming.Skills- Proficient in veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the veterinary team.- Experience with animal care techniques, including animal catheterization and restraint methods.- Knowledge of pet grooming practices to enhance the appearance and hygiene of animals.- Strong dog and cat handling skills to ensure safety during examinations and treatments. - Comfortability in working with exotics is a plus but we are willing to train.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating compassion for animals.- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.- A commitment to ongoing professional development in veterinary medicine.
