Summary of Position We are in search of a highly motivated, detail-oriented Assistant General Manager to lead our newest concept located in Chicago responsible for supporting GMs with hands-on coaching, operational problem-solving, and on-the-ground leadership to keep standards high across venues. The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring excellence in guest experience, team performance, and operational execution. The AGM plays a key leadership role on the floor, reinforces service standards, supports training and development, and steps into leadership responsibilities when the General Manager is not present. Key Responsibilities Operational & Leadership Duties Support the General Manager in overseeing daily front-of-house and back-of-house operations to ensure consistent execution of service, food, and beverage standards Maintain a thorough understanding of all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs Serve as a visible leadership presence during service, supporting team flow, guest experience, and real-time problem resolution Model Episcope hospitality standards through service excellence, recognition, and leadership presence Ensure every guest feels genuinely welcomed and receives warm, responsive, and memorable hospitality Lead service recovery in alignment with Episcope standards using professionalism, empathy, and a solutions-oriented approach Ensure food and beverage are consistently prepared and served according to recipes, portioning, cooking, and presentation standards Complete required paperwork, including forms, reports, and schedules, in an organized and timely manner Ensure facilities and equipment are clean and in excellent working condition through regular inspections, checklists, and preventative maintenance Ensure products are received in correct count and condition in accordance with receiving policies and procedures Ensure operational readiness across all dayparts, including staffing coverage, prep, setup, and breakdown Maintain a professional, organized, and guest-focused environment across all areas of the restaurant Foster a positive, professional, and welcoming culture for team members Step into service roles as needed to ensure guest service standards and operational flow remain strong Team Development & People Leadership Support the General Manager in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retention for management and hourly teams Reinforce clear expectations, performance standards, and growth pathways for team members Lead and support training initiatives across all roles, reinforcing service standards, brand values, and operational excellence Conduct regular performance check-ins and provide timely feedback to support development and performance improvement Financial & Business Performance Support the General Manager in driving sales growth, labor efficiency, cost control, and overall profitability Assist with daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to corporate leadership and ownership Enforce inventory controls, ordering processes, and loss prevention practices across food, beverage, and supplies Support execution of programming, promotions, events, and private dining strategies to drive revenue Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, sanitation, and employment practices Qualifications 3–5 years of management experience in high-volume, full-service restaurants, bars, or cafés Working knowledge of restaurant financials and technology platforms, including Toast, SevenRooms, Tripleseat, OpenTable, and Microsoft Excel Demonstrated ability to lead teams, support financial performance, and drive operational excellence Strong math, organizational, and problem-solving skills Confident leadership presence with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable High operational discipline and guest-focused mindset Passion for hospitality, food, beverage, music, and design Comfort working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Ability to manage cash handling and reconciliation in accordance with company policies Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including reaching, bending, stooping, and lifting Stamina to work 50–60 hours per week Pay & Benefits Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and flexible scheduling Employee dining discounts across all Episcope location Professional development opportunities with clear pathways for advancement More detail about Episcope Hospitality - Chicago part of Episcope Hospitality, please visit
