Surgical Oncology APP Needed in MinnesotaTarget Start Date: ASAP (April start acceptable)Contract Length: 13 week assignment, flexible extensionsScheduleCoverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours minimal callShift Structure & Expectations:Monday FridayDay shift (approx. 7:30 a.m. 4:00 p.m.)Primary focus: inpatient coverage, plus some outpatient responsibilitiesOccasional weekend rounding (approx. 8:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.)EMR: Not specifiedPractice DetailsSetting:Mix of inpatient and outpatient surgical oncologyAcute care hospital environment within a large regional cancer programDepartment Focus:Surgical oncology with emphasis on hepatobiliary patientsCoordination of pre and post operative careInpatient management and occasional OR assistanceWork Expectations:Independent outpatient visitsInpatient rounding and managementAssist in the OR as needed (prepping, intraoperative assistance, closure)Perform procedures such as wound care, drain management and removalCollaborate closely with surgical teams and multidisciplinary oncology staffParticipate in care coordination and patient educationHospital Size: Large regional acute care facilityCredentialing Timeframe: Fingerprinting required; results typically post within 48 hours before privileges can be grantedClinical ScopeIndependent evaluation and management of surgical oncology patientsOrdering and interpreting diagnostics in collaboration with supervising physicianManaging pre and post operative careProviding inpatient consultations and follow upAssisting surgeons during hepatobiliary and other oncology related proceduresSupporting care continuity across inpatient and outpatient settingsRequirementsRole: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Surgical OncologyBoard Certification: RequiredLicense:Minnesota license required for PAsNPs may be considered without Minnesota license in hand (facility willing to license)DEA: RequiredExperience:Surgical oncology or surgical specialty background preferredAbility to work independently in both inpatient and outpatient settingsSkills Required:Experience with postoperative careOR assist experience (preferred)Ability to manage complex oncology patientsStrong clinical assessment and procedural skillsLocationMinneapolis, Minnesota Surgical oncology support within a major regional acute care hospital; combination of inpatient, outpatient, and limited weekend rounding responsibilities.If you are interested or would like to be presented, please reach out to me for more details.Morgan HennesseyRecruiting Consultant
