Surgical Breast Reconstruction APP (Nurse Practitioner) Needed in CaliforniaTarget Start Date: March 23, 2026Contract Length: 26 week assignment (full time), potential ongoing needScheduleCoverage Type: Scheduled clinical hours only no callShift Structure & Expectations:4 10 schedule: Tuesday FridayShift: 7:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.Full time, weekly recurring scheduleDay shift onlyEMR: EpicPractice DetailsSetting:Hospital based surgical oncology & outpatient reconstructive surgeryHigh volume breast reconstruction servicePatient Population:Primarily adults and geriatricsOccasional older adolescentsSupport Team:MAs, RNs, APPs, surgeonsPatient Volumes:OR: Typically 2 4 surgical cases/dayInpatient service: 2 8 patients depending on censusDepartment Summary:Predominantly breast reconstruction following mastectomyIncludes tissue expansions, wound care, and management of reconstructive patientsSmall subset of non breast plastic cases (e.g., closures), but majority are reconstructionWorkflow split:% OR first assist% inpatient floor management (med surg/tele)Clinical ResponsibilitiesFirst assist in reconstructive breast surgeryPost operative managementTissue expansion, wound management, and related oncology/plastic surgery tasksSuturing and core OR skills requiredFlexible movement between OR and inpatient unit based on daily needsNo floor based procedures required beyond standard wound careRequirementsRole: Physician Assistant Surgical Oncology / Plastic SurgeryEducation: Master s degree in Physician Assistant Studies (required)Experience:Strongly prefer surgical breast reconstruction experienceWill consider other surgical oncology backgroundsMust have recent (1 5 years) relevant OR or outpatient surgical experienceHigh volume oncology experience preferredLicense: Active California PA license required (not willing to license)Certifications:BLS (AHA)DEA California with Schedule II requiredSkills Required:Strong OR first assist competencyStrong inpatient management skillsEfficient in high volume surgical oncology practiceCredentialing Timeframe: 60 daysLocationSan Francisco, California Large academic hospital environment focused on surgical breast reconstruction and oncology care.If you are interested or would like to be presented, please reach out to me for more details.Morgan HennesseyRecruiting Consultant
