The advance practice clinician ensures safe, timely, and patient-centered care while adhering to hospital policies and clinical best practices.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform comprehensive history and physical examinations for new admissions and existing inpatientsManage acute and chronic medical conditions in coordination with the supervising hospitalistOrder and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, ECGs, etc.) based on scope of practiceDevelop and implement evidence-based treatment plansProvide cross-coverage for inpatient units, addressing changes in patient status, medication adjustments, and care coordinationComplete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)QualificationsMaster?s degree from an accredited NP or PA programCurrent state licensure as NP or PANational certification (ACNP, FNP, AGACNP, PA-C, etc., depending on organization requirements).Active DEA license (or eligibility)BLS and ACLS certifications requiredPreferred: 1?2 years of experience in inpatient medicine, emergency medicine, or critical care.New graduates with strong clinical rotations may be considered depending on hospital needs.Want to learn more?
