General Purpose:Driscoll Children s Hospital is seeking CICU Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our dynamic Heart Center Team, located in a stunning coastal climate in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role provides advanced practice care to children with congenital heart disease. This is more than a job it is an opportunity to provide exceptional, family centered care in a fast-paced environment where your expertise directly impacts patient experience and outcomes.Essential Functions: Complete comprehensive history and physical exams Manage individualized treatment plans. Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests Complete Consults with follow up as indicated. Prescribe medications, therapies as indicated within scope of practice Manage hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and ECMO as needed in collaboration with supervising physicians. Perform advanced procedures as credentialed Participate in daily rounds and communicate care plan with families Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members Participate in Heart Center improvement initiatives EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:•Master s or Post Master s Degree, Required.•Graduation from a Nurse Practitioners Program with practice authority in the State of Texas, required.•Advanced Specialty Courses as required by DCH Credentialing obtained within time frame required and continuously maintained ongoing•Minimum of2-3 years of pediatric critical care experience, recommended.•BLS, PALS and ACLS, required. CERTIFICATES, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION:•Advanced Practice Certification (select all the apply)•Family Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified (FNP-BC)Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified (NNP-BC)•Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner -Primary Care (CPNP-PC)•Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care (CPNP-AC)•Active and unencumbered nurse practitioner and registered nurse license in the State of Texas, required.•Advanced specialty courses and ongoing education requirements as required by DCH.•DCH Credentialing obtained within time frame required and continuously maintained ongoing.•Must obtain DCH credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical privileges, required•Nurse Practitioner, Acute Care Pediatric Certification, required
