Gastroenterology Nurse Practitioner

A healthcare company on Long Island is currently looking to add a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join one of their private practices team in Suffolk County.About the Opportunity:Setting: AmbulatorySchedule: Monday to Friday (1 Saturday per month)Hours: 8am to 5pm (1-hour break)Responsibilities:Supervise and manage Nurse Practitioners (NPs) assigned to their locationComplete direct reports and annual performance appraisalPerform annual wellness assessments on all assigned site participantsProvide urgent care services to participants and facilitate the provision of same-day accessAssess participants upon return from the hospital/Emergency Department within 5 daysReview the patient's past medical history at least every 6 monthsFormulate a comprehensive and complete diagnostic list of current and past medical conditions using clinical knowledge and judgment and the findings of his/her assessmentEnsure that all such documentation is complete and accurate, and specific diagnosis codes will be documented in the clinical platform and as encounter data as requiredReview the participant's current symptoms and exacerbation of problems that were previously controlledPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) programNYS Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) licenseComputer savvyMicrosoft Office proficientDesired Skills:Gastrointestinal and/or Internal Medicine background
