Facility in Great Barrington, MA seeking EM APP locums coverage Rates: $130/hr A Critical Access Hospital in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage while an APP is on parental leave. Position Details Specialty: Emergency Medicine Role: NP (AANP) or PA (NCCPA) Practice Setting: Emergency Department Coverage Dates: July 1, 2026 August 31, 2026 Reason for Coverage: APP on parental leave Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 1 2 months Schedule Options 9:00 AM 7:00 PM 9:00 AM 9:00 PM 3:00 PM 11:00 PM Emergency Department Overview Total ED beds: 8 Average daily volume: 45 patients Hospital admissions from ED: 80% ED patients admitted daily: 6% ED patients transferred daily: 6% No Fast Track ED physician group size: 10 physicians Trauma designation: Critical Access Hospital Patient population ranges from pediatric to adult, with a higher proportion of geriatric patients. Facility Resources 24/7 Radiology 24/7 Laboratory AABB-certified Blood Bank 24/7 OR availability 24/7 Anesthesia General Surgery services available Consulting services include Radiology, Critical Care, Cardiology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Urology, Hematology/Oncology, and Psychiatry. Clinical Responsibilities APP will work under physician supervision and will not practice autonomously. Supervising physician is present during assignment. APP is not expected to respond to house codes (physician only; ED staff respond). Provider performs EKG interpretations. ED is responsible for monitoring and supervising paramedics via radio. Obstetric deliveries go directly to Labor & Delivery. On-call response requirement (per bylaws): 30 minutes.
