Oncology Nurse Practitioner

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Care:Conduct pre-operative assessments and post-operative follow-ups.Perform daily inpatient rounds, write orders, and manage discharge planning.Assist in outpatient clinics for cancer surveillance and follow-up.First assist in surgical procedures.Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with surgeons.Provide patient education regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and recovery.Coordination & Communication:Act as a liaison between patients, families, nursing staff, and physicians.Facilitate referrals to other specialties and community resources.Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary care meetings.Documentation & Compliance:Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record, Epic.Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory standards. Qualifications: Master s degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant StudiesCurrent Indiana state licensure as NP or PACertification in surgical or oncology specialty preferred (e.g., AOCNP)BLS/ACLS certificationDEA licenseMinimum 2 3 years of experience in oncology or surgical care preferred Skills & Competencies: Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Familiarity with Epic and clinical documentation standards.
