Position Summary (35 Hours/Week - 4-day Workweek)- Longevity Bonus AvailablePart-Time Candidates Also AcceptedPosition Summary:Family Service Society, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our growing and skilled clinical team. This position provides a combination of general and specialty counseling services for clients across the lifespan in our Bath and Hornell offices. The Mental Health Therapist is responsible for delivering high-quality, trauma-informed mental health therapy to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. Services include both individual and group counseling. A significant focus of the role includes working with clients impacted by sexual or severe abuse, as well as youth exhibiting problematic sexual behavior, for whom sexual risk assessments and targeted counseling are required. Additional responsibilities include facilitating the Domestic Violence Education and Accountability Program (DVEAP) for individuals who have caused harm in relationships and providing weekly group shelter coverage to support individuals residing in our emergency housing programs. The therapist conducts comprehensive clinical assessments, develops semi-annual treatment plans, and implements evidence-based interventions, particularly Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Collaboration with community partners such as the Department of Social Services, the Child Advocacy Center, schools, and other behavioral health providers is essential. The position requires accurate and timely documentation of client progress, participation in case consultations, and making referrals to appropriate community resources as needed. Education and Experience Requirements:Candidates must possess a masters degree and related professional license in a counseling field (LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, LCAT, LMHC) or a permit holder in a counseling field. We are seeking Mental Health Therapists with preferably at least two years of experience in counseling and/or the human service field that are able to be credentialed by local health insurances. The Mental Health Therapist must be able to establish rapport with clients who are diverse in their race, culture, religion, economic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, and abilities.
